Salt Lake Birding Weekend - Event Canceled

On April 25th the 45th annual Salt Lake Birding Weekend will take place in the western Minnesota counties of Lac qui Parle, Yellow Medicine and Big Stone. This event is free and open to all who are interested, no pre-registration is needed. This is a great family event and appropriate for birders at all levels of experience. Meet on Saturday, April 25 at 7 AM at the Marietta American Legion to join guided car caravans for tours of the best birding areas.

Bass Ponds, MVNWR - This event has been canceled

Join us for a bird walk at the Bass Ponds. We will check the trails along the Hogback Marsh, Ike's Creek and see what's out on Long Meadow Lake. Learn which species of birds that we observe, use the Refuge as a migratory stop and those that call the Refuge home for the summer nesting season. Birders of all skill levels are welcome. Bring binoculars, your favorite field guide and dress appropriately for the weather. Reservations are not required for this bird walk.

Carver Park Reserve - This event has been canceled

Carver Park Reserve is an excellent birding location with a nice variety of habitats. join us for this early morning walk, at the peak of spring migration. On past spring trips to Carver Park Reserve we have observed over 140 species of birds including 14 species of Sparrows and 23 species of Warblers. Each year is a little different, so join us to find what surprises are in store for this year's participants. Registration is not required for this field trip.

Southern Minnesota Birding Days - This event has been canceled

Some of the locations we will likely bird on this tour include the Hormel Nature Center, Lake Louise State Park, Tollefson Woods and a number of WMAs and Water Treatment Plants. These locations should give us a variety of habitats to search in Dodge and Mower counties. Contact Craig to register for this field trip.
