The Minnesota River Valley Audubon Chapter (MRVAC) invites you to join us for Heather Holm, Minnesota pollinator expert and author on “What’s the Buzz About Native Bees?” Thursday, April 23, at a 7 p.m. reception and 7:30 p.m. program on Zoom and at the Minnesota River Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
Heather will explore the nesting habitat, life cycle, pollen collection, brood rearing, and general characteristics of native bees occurring in Minnesota. She’ll be highlighting pollination and mutualism between native plants and native bees. Heather will also discuss how the physical characteristics of bees can influence the bees’ effectiveness as pollinators. Find out the buzz at this program!
This meeting will be held in-person at the refuge and simulcast via Zoom. The refuge visitor center is located at 3815 American Boulevard East in Bloomington and is accessible after a short walk from the METRO blue line. All MRVAC meetings are free and open to the public.

The MRVAC Photography Special Interest Group is resuming its outdoor events May 11. We will meet at 5:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month through October. Our regular venue will be the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge. Please meet in the parking lot for each session.
