Bird Watching Trek

May 8 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 am CDT

May brings us a mix of migratory songbirds. With the Wood Warblers being the most sought after. Join us on a walk, in search of these migrants and learn which species of birds use the Refuge as a migratory stop over and those that migrate to the Refuge to nest. Birders of all skill levels are welcome on these walks. Bring along your binoculars, favorite field guide and dress appropriately for the weather. For questions about these walks, please contact volunteer naturalist Craig at 952-240-7647. Pre-registration required.

In the events section of the refuge’s website there will be a link to the signup page for the field trip you are interested in joining. These walks will be limited to 25 participants, so register early.

For the safety of staff and participants, outdoor programming on the MVNWR will be cancelled in the event local areas are under an active advisory (Winter Weather, Wind Chill) or an active warning (Blizzard, Winter Storm, Ice Storm, Wind Chill, Thunderstorm). Programming will also be cancelled in the event the temperature is at or below 0°F. Participants will be notified of cancelation via SignUp message.
